Lighting
Note
This page assumes that you're using the Lighting Template shipped with Beacon.
The lighting template offers two choices of workflow:
Subnets
By using the subnet, the scene gets divided in 3 steps:
Import
Import caches is imply importing all assets that have been published in the lighting scene.
Modify
Note
This step is entirely optional.
It can sometimes happen that a cache needs to be modified for a specific shot.
In order to do so, we're modifying the caches reference in the GRP__modify
subnet. This way, if the imported cache gets a new version, you won't loose your overrides as they live independently from the cache itself.
Render
The final step is to get rid of all useless attributes, groups and so on, and apply the right object settings before rendering.
Wildcards
Wildcarding is a messier way to render the scene.
All you have to do is import the caches and add tag names (wildcards) to them, such as __FG
, __BG
, __SET
, etc.
Tip
You can use the Modify Tag tool to add wildcards.
In the ROP node, you will then use the wilcards in the Force Objects
, Phantom Objects
and Matte Objects
parameters.
